“Piston Ring Design and Technology”
In this seminar we will look at compression ring design including radial faced and taper faced rings, torsional twist, Non-twisted and Napier style rings. Other topics that will be discussed are optimal ring end gaps, ring side and back clearance, Carbon steel and Stainless steel rings, ring coatings including types of Moly, nitriding and uncoated steel rings. Bill will conclude the seminar with how to select the proper oil ring tension for performance applications.

“An Inside Look at Honing Different Cylinder Coatings and Materials on Engine Blocks Today”
Bob will cover a wide range of honing applications from NASCAR engines to street engines and everything in between. Other topics include — secrets for honing Nickasil, high nickel cast iron, compacted graphite blocks, the new aluminum Corvette block, Sulzer Metco coatings, bore geometry, surface finish, cross hatch angle, the pros and cons of diamond abrasives vs. conventional abrasives, water based vs. oil based coolants, hot honing and where it is used today. To conclude the presentation there will be an open discussion on honing of all appropriate parts of the internal combustion engine. Whether you are new to the business or an old pro, this honing presentation is really too good to miss!

Steve Fox will introduce you to PRO-SIS SA engine specification software. This new and improved version of PRO-SIS will now allow you to search for engines, specs and bulletins more effectively and efficiently. A new “special search” section (bulletins, rods, blocks and casting numbers) is just one of many new features which will be demonstrated in this session.

Ron will cover the new LazerWeld™ Stopper Technology developed for motorsports operating environments, featuring the same technology used by leading NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck series engine builders. This session details the engineering and dynamic embossment technology for a superior combustion seal in high-output applications. Ron will cover the dynamics of sealing stress around the combustion opening, controlled emboss bead compression, the decrease of cylinder head lift and more. The seminar will conclude with Ron talking about the new Blue MLS coatings designed for “real-world” installations.

This session details the real differences in conventional mineral oils and synthetic oils. Lake will cover, what motor oil is made of, how conventional base stocks are made, how synthetic base stocks are made and what are the performance differences.  He will conclude this seminar with what is myth and what is fact?
